Overview
Balmoral, sold as Balmoral Hybrid, is a white pattypan squash on unusually compact vines. In a container the vines run only about 2 feet, and in the ground 3 to 4 feet, so it fits where most scallop types would not. The fruit are large for a pattypan, 6 to 8 inches, white and scalloped, and they form along the stems in a row the way Brussels sprouts do on their stalk. Maturity is on the later side at about 70 days. Good for patio growers who want a squash that does not take over.
