Overview
Double Gem is a mid-season bicolor sugar-enhanced (se) hybrid on 6-foot plants. The blocky 8-inch ears fill right out to the end and hold 16 to 18 kernel rows. It emerges reliably from cold soil, resists northern corn leaf blight, and tolerates Stewart's wilt, so it copes with both a chilly start and a humid summer. Plant in blocks and side-dress with nitrogen when the plants are knee high.
