Overview
Carnival (HMX 6732) is a hybrid acorn squash bred by T. Superak at Harris Moran (1991) with multicolored fruit: green-yellow with orange patches, cream and stripes, no two alike, over golden-yellow flesh that is mildly sweet and nutty. Fruit is 1 to 2 lb and forms near the crown of the semi-bush plant, which keeps the footprint small. Similar in type to Sweet Dumpling. Direct sow in warm soil; about 85 days. Cure about 2 weeks before eating for better sweetness. As decorative as it is edible.
