Overview
Bush Buttercup puts buttercup-quality fruit on an upright bush plant. Two strains share the name: one from Burgess Seed and Plant Company (1952) with light green fruit like Buttercup, and New Hampshire Bush Buttercup from the University of New Hampshire (1951), a Buttercup x Zapallito cross that sets its fruit at the crown, matures earlier and grows larger fruit than Buttercup while keeping similar quality. Either way it suits gardens where a long buttercup vine will not fit, and the New Hampshire strain was aimed at the far northern limit of squash growing. About 80 days.
