Overview

Cherriette is Sakata's 1987 hybrid take on the Cherry Belle type. Roots are uniform cherry-red globes, bright in color, with dense and crisp white flesh on a medium top, and they are slow to go pithy, so a missed harvest day seldom spoils them. It is recommended for short-day harvests and is especially reliable for autumn crops in temperate climates, though it adapts widely. Sow shallowly in loose, stone-free soil, thin early, and resow every 10 to 14 days in cool weather. Its evenness makes it a bunching favorite.
