Overview
Sora is a round red radish from Nunhems (1989) chosen for its ability to hold quality in warm soil. Roots are large, very smooth and deep red with a solid texture, on medium-tall foliage, and they resist the pithy, spongy centers that ruin most radishes once spring heats up. That makes it useful for stretching the season later in spring or starting fall sowings while the ground is still warm; it is rated for spring, summer and autumn cropping. Direct sow a half inch deep, thin to about an inch, keep soil moist, and pull once roots are around an inch across.
