Overview
Sally Holmes is a shrub rose bred in Great Britain by Robert A. Holmes and introduced in 1976. Its parents are 'Ivory Fashion' and 'Ballerina'. The white blooms are single to semi-single, with roughly four to eight petals, and open wide at about 4 to 5 inches across, giving off a mild musky scent. Plants can become very tall, up to 12 ft, so it is often trained against a wall or fence, or given plenty of space in a large border. It has been inducted into the World Rose Hall of Fame, and suits gardeners who prefer simple, open flowers over fully double ones.
