Overview
Serendipity was the first of the TripleSweet-type bicolors, a Novartis hybrid that combines sugary-enhanced (se+) tenderness with supersweet-level sugar and slow starch conversion, so ears stay good for days after picking. Ears run about 8 inches and carry 16 to 18 rows of mixed yellow and white kernels; the stalks are tall and vigorous. Sow an inch deep only when soil has reached 65F, in a block of short rows. Give nitrogen and deep watering while it tassels and fills ears, and pick when silks are brown and kernels are milky. Matures in about 82 days; adapted to the Northeast and popular with roadside markets.
