Overview
Goldilocks is a 2021 AAS-winning orange acorn squash (Cucurbita pepo) from EarthWork Seeds. The bright orange fruit is round to oval, about 4 by 4 inches and 1 lb, a good size for one meal, with sweet, nutty flesh that judges preferred for taste and texture. Bushy, compact plants 30 inches tall spread 4 to 5 ft and keep producing, 10 or more fruits each; a large container may work because of the bush habit. About 70 days from transplant or 85 from seed. Tolerates powdery mildew. (An older Musser variety of the same name, small round gold fruit, was registered in 1984.)
