Overview
Green Zebra is the work of Tom Wagner (Tater Mater Seeds), who developed it around 1985 from four heirlooms and remains the classic green-striped tomato. Fruit is two to three inches and three to five ounces, ripening from green to yellow-green with dark green stripes, and the interior is emerald green with a sweet, tangy bite. Judge ripeness by a slight softening and an amber blush rather than by color. The open-pollinated, indeterminate vines grow past six feet, so stake or cage them and prune suckers for airflow. Fruit is smooth and does not crack readily. Suitable for greenhouse or garden; roughly 70 to 80 days from transplant.
