Overview
Sioux came out of the University of Nebraska in 1944 from a Stokesdale x Allred cross, bred to keep setting fruit through hot, humid Midwestern summers. That heat tolerance still makes it a favorite in the South, where it continues producing when other tomatoes drop their blossoms. Fruits are medium-sized, round, very smooth and bright red with a classic mildly acidic flavor. The indeterminate vines produce from early summer until frost; stake or cage them early. Maturity is around 69 days.
