Overview

Floralina came out of a joint North Carolina State and University of Florida program in 1997 (line NC 9547) as a fresh-market hybrid. Fruit are extra-large red flattened globes, very firm and smooth, with light green shoulders before ripening. Plants are medium-tall determinates that crop early in the mid-season window, so a short stake or cage is enough. It is essentially Floramerica with Fusarium race 3 added; the list also includes Fusarium races 1 and 2, gray leaf spot, Verticillium race 1 and Alternaria stem canker. A sensible pick for eastern US gardens with wilt problems. About 78 days.
