Overview
Wachichu is a flint corn with a bushy habit: plants of 7 to 9 feet throw many tillers, so a block of it works as a windbreak and gives excellent forage. The 9 to 11-inch ears show all sorts of kernel colors and patterns, each kernel wearing a hard, translucent seed coat. It tolerates cold soils. Dry the ears on the stalk for grinding or display.
