Overview
Neck, known more descriptively as Neck Pumpkin, is a long-necked butternut relative grown mainly for pie filling. Vines carry fruit of around 15 pounds and 20 to 30 inches long, with a bulb about 20 inches around and a neck about 10 inches around that may grow straight or curl. The skin is tan and the flesh orange, and since the neck is solid, most of the squash is usable. Allow a long season of about 120 days and plenty of vine space.
