Overview

Chef's Choice Yellow F1 is a yellow beefsteak with a sweet, citrus-like flavor, an AAS regional winner for the Southeast in 2017. Fruit is a flattened deep globe of nine to ten ounces, and the five-foot indeterminate vines set 30 or more of them, which makes the staking worthwhile. Pick when the color has turned deep yellow but the fruit is still slightly firm. Resistances include tomato mosaic virus, anthracnose, scab, Fusarium, Verticillium, and cracking. Start seed about five weeks before planting out and space plants 15 to 18 inches apart. This is a late one, around 90 days from transplant, so it is best where the season is long.
