Overview
Pony Express (entered here as Tomato 'Pony Express') is an early determinate saladette tomato that sets a concentrated early crop, a habit noted in grower fields across the Northeast. The fruit is large for the type, elongated, and dark red, and growers have been impressed by its earliness, size, and yield against similar varieties. Its disease package is strong: resistance to Fusarium wilt races 1, 2, and 3, Verticillium race 1, tomato mosaic virus, bacterial speck, and root-knot nematode. A good choice where you want a heavy flush of sauce-type fruit early rather than a trickle all season.
