Overview
Suyo Long is a traditional Chinese burpless slicer of the hybrid type, bearing slender, gracefully curved, ribbed fruits 12 to 14 inches long with a light green, slightly warted skin. Inside is nearly all flesh with very few seeds, mild and sweet with no bitterness, and easy on the stomach. It is very productive in hot weather. A trellis is important here, both for straight fruit and airflow. Sow directly, an inch deep, once frost has passed and soil is above 65 F. Resistant to powdery mildew. About 51 days.
