Overview
Buffy F1 is a Capsicum frutescens hot pepper from Known-You Seed, a 2022 AAS national winner in the tabasco class. The compact 28-inch plants with dark green foliage bear an enormous crop, 250 to 280 small red fruits per plant, each slightly triangular at about 1.4 by 0.6 inches. Heat is extreme, around 500,000 Scoville, with a distinct aroma, and the fruit is just large enough to separate flesh from seeds and placenta when you want to dial the heat down. Plants tolerate heat and need staking to carry the load; the breeder suggests stripping the leaves and side shoots that sit below the second branch about 20 days after transplanting. About 70 days from transplant.
