Overview

Karma is a hybrid bell pepper from Harris Moran, introduced in 1998 and grown widely. Plants are vigorous and tall, 25 to 35 inches, with dense leaf cover that shades fruit from sunscald in high summer. The blocky peppers measure about 4 by 6 inches with glossy skin and thick walls, dark green at first and turning an intense red if left to ripen. Tobacco mosaic virus resistance is built in, which helps it keep healthy foliage under the aphid pressure of long, warm seasons. Pick green for a milder pepper or red for sweetness, and keep harvesting to prompt further fruit set. Note that a separate open-pollinated Italian frying pepper from Wild Garden Seed also carries the name Karma.
