Overview

Mexican Sunrise F1 is a medium-hot Hungarian wax pepper from Seeds By Design, a 2018 AAS regional winner (Southeast, Mountain/Southwest). The conical, pointed fruit is 6 to 7 inches and 1.5 to 2 ounces, and because the plant keeps setting through summer you see pale green, yellow, orange and red pods all at once, which is also why it doubles as an ornamental into fall. Fruit is more uniform and less hooked than comparisons. Bushy plants stay 20 to 22 inches, need no staking, produce 40 or more fruits and tolerate TMV. Dry to normal water needs; fine in containers and city gardens. About 60 to 65 days from transplant.
