Overview

Jupiter is a Northrup-King bell (breeder T. Williams, 1982) that produces some of the largest fruit of any open-pollinated bell: extremely blocky, mostly four-lobed, thick-walled fruit around 4.5 inches square, green and ripening to red. It resists tobacco mosaic virus and is comparable to Bell Boy and Early California Wonder. Start seed 8 to 10 weeks before transplanting and set into fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. Being open pollinated, it allows seed saving from the best fruit. Excellent for stuffing and for red-ripe roasting.
