Overview
Lilac (PEP9151) is a Northrup-King hybrid bell from 1991 whose color comes from a purple wash over an ivory, waxy fruit, giving a lavender that holds far longer than most purple bells before finishing red. Fruit is medium-small, 3 or 4 lobed, occasionally slightly pointed, and mild. It resists tobacco mosaic virus and potato virus Y and tolerates stip. Comparable to Purple Bell and Purple Beauty but with the longer lavender phase, so it is the one to grow if you want pale purple peppers on the table.
