Overview
Naga Jolokia is the Indian superhot better known in the West as Bhut Jolokia or Ghost pepper, and it also travels under names such as Bih Jolokia, Raja Mircha, Naga Morich and Dorset Naga. The plants grow large and bushy, and they carry pods around 2 1/2 inches long and roughly the thickness of a pencil that finish red. Heat is extreme, far beyond an ordinary hot pepper, so handle the fruit with gloves and use it sparingly. Like other Capsicum chinense types it wants an early indoor start, warm soil and a long season to ripen a full crop. Grow it if you make hot sauces or dried chile powder and already know you enjoy serious heat.
