Overview
Biscayne is a cubanelle-type frying pepper hybrid from 1997 offered by Park Seed and Johnny's. Prolific plants set smooth, large fruit up to about 7 inches (150 x 60 mm), slim and tapered to a fairly blunt tip, with two or three lobes and a pale lime green color. The plants branch well to around 65 cm and form a canopy that shields fruit from sunscald. Maturity is about 62 to 63 days from transplant. Cubanelles have thin walls that fry and roast quickly, so this is the pepper for sautéing, sausage-and-pepper dishes and Italian-style stuffing.
