Overview
Jalafuego is a vigorous F1 jalapeno that took an All-America Selections award in 2011 for its heavy, even yields. Pods are big and unusually long, smooth-skinned and very dark green, and noticeably hotter than standard jalapenos. It shows tolerance to bacterial spot and potato virus Y, a real help in humid summers. Pick green for crunch and classic heat, or let some ripen red on the plant for extra sweetness and bite. Full sun and consistent water keep the well-branched plants setting fruit over a long season. Harvest runs 65 to 72 days.
