Overview
Ixtapa (PS 9096) is a Seminis jalapeno from 2002 bred for jumbo fruit and disease resistance. Vigorous plants bear bluntly tapered, thick-walled, dark green pods about 4 by 1.5 inches that ripen to red, with a moderate 4,000 to 6,000 Scoville heat. It resists potato virus Y as well as the three main races of bacterial leaf spot, which matters in warm, humid regions. High yield potential; a good jalapeno for poppers because of the size and thick walls.
