Overview
Orange Sun is an F1 bell bred to ripen a true, uniform orange rather than the muddy orange of a red pepper picked early. Fruit is 3 to 4 inches, slightly tapered and smooth, green at first and then full orange several weeks later; wait for the complete color, since the sweetness and mild flavor develop only then. Walls are thick and firm. Plant in full sun with good drainage and water evenly while fruit is sizing to avoid blossom end rot. Start seed indoors at 75 to 80F and transplant after the last frost. Fine for fresh eating, roasting and stuffing.
