Overview
Garden Sunshine was released in 1982 by A.H. Millet and R.A. Jones at the University of California, Davis, from a cross of Aconcagua and Yolo Wonder, specifically for home gardens. Short plants of 12 to 16 inches bear open-pollinated bell fruit that is lemon or creamy yellow when immature and ripens through orange to bright red, so the plant carries a mix of colors. It resists tobacco mosaic virus and was adapted to California growing areas. The small plant size suits containers and tight beds.
